3-4.Focal length and focal width of Halogen Line Heater

Relationship with the light collecting diameter of the Halogen Line Heater
First of all, we will define the words.
“Focus width” is the narrowest width of condensing distance. And focus width is rated width.
“Focal length” is the condensation distance when the condensation width is “focal length”.
The line condensing mirror has the maximum temperature at the “focal length” and “focal width”.
User can change the condensing distance by changing the condensing distance,
When the condensing distance (distance from the end of the focusing mirror to the object to be heated) is shifted from the focal length, higher temperature heating is possible when the distance is closer to the heater.

(1) Relationship between focal width and electric power
The larger the electric power, the larger the tube diameter of the lamp, and the proportionally wider the focal width.
There are three types of the tube diameter of the lamps: Φ10, Φ13, and Φ18.

(2) Relationship between condensing distance and heat-generating filament
The condensing distance cannot be smaller than the heating element. The size of the heating filament and the minimum size of the condensing distance is same.

(3) Relationship between focal width and focal length
If the condensing distance is increased or decreased from the rated focal width, the condensing distance can be heated in a large and wide range. (Out focus)
Even if the focal width is the same, the shorter the focal length, the higher the output density, be able to the high temperature heating

* Although it is possible to manufacture a custom-made condensing mirror after a special design, from the viewpoint of price and delivery time,
It is recommended to consider whether the standard product can be used by shifting it from the focal position.

(4) Relationship between the condensing distance and condensing mirror’s width
The larger the width of the condensing mirror, be able to high temperatutre heating.
However, the minimum size is up to the filament diameter.

Focal length and focal width of Halogen Line Heater

(Fig. 1) Irradiate a model with f = 75 mm at a distance of 40 mm
The condensing distance is wider than at the rated distance.

(Fig. 2) Irradiate a model with f = 75 mm at a distance of 75 mm
Since the focal length is the rated distance, the focal length (luminous flux) is the most efficient. The focal point gets the maximum temperature.

(Fig. 3) Irradiate a model with f = 75 mm at a distance of 115 mm
The condensing distance is wider than at the rated distance.

(Fig. 4) Irradiate a model with f = 75 mm at a distance of 150 mm
The condensing distance is wide with an almost even distribution.

To maximize the performance of the lamp and succeed in high temperature heating, Please use the “Re-reflective Heating Method”.
