Thermal Decomposition of Polycarbonate Sheet by Localized Infrared Heating

Using a halogen point heater, we locally irradiated a polycarbonate (PC) sheet with infrared radiation and observed its thermal decomposition process. As heating progressed, the polycarbonate softened, and outgas was generated.
