Rapid Melting of Expanded Polystyrene by Localized Infrared Heating

Using a halogen point heater, we locally irradiated expanded polystyrene (EPS) with infrared radiation to observe its thermal response. The irradiated area rapidly reached high temperatures, causing the EPS to melt quickly. This video clearly demonstrates how localized infrared heating affects heat-sensitive materials.
